FACETS Program Overview

FACETS is:

•  A unique, comprehensive, faculty initiated, professional development opportunity, emphasizing collaboration between faculty and teaching staff of 4 and 2 year institutions

•  A multi-phased design targeting teaching excellence through monetary support for faculty designed projects related to innovative teaching, teaching improvement, research on teaching and learning, SoTL projects (The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning), or student retention

• A series of planned seminars featuring the latest information and research on Millennial learners; cognition and knowledge retention; and effective methods of curricular redesign

• An opportunity for faculty to examine the place of the university in the full educational continuum through dialogues, activities, and opportunities for collaboration with educators from area schools, members from local businesses, and university students
