The FACETS Program
addresses several real
faculty development issues
as there exists:
• Clear rifts between the expectations of newer, incoming generations of students as compared to the teaching styles, methods, and presentation styles of many faculty members. Even content foci often fall short in meeting the projected professional needs, prospects, and learning styles of Millennial students.
• A lack of faculty awareness of many of the new findings and research on the nature of learning, cognition, and information retention.
• Newer, more effective methods of creating meaningful, dynamic, relevant curricula that faculty need to know.
