fleabane (Erigeron spp.; COMPOSITE FAMILY [Asteraceae]) Several species of herbs which contrast with asters in flowering early, in spring or summer and contrast with ox-eye daisy in having smaller flowers with large numbers of very narrow rays surrounding the disk. Typically found on open ground or very open woods. [112]
