Ambrosia artemisiifolia; common ragweed [Asteraceae]  Native annual herb with finely dissected leaves.  Grows 12-40” topped with inflorescences of many, small, bead-like heads on 6” spikes.  Copious, wind-blown, pollen is a principal cause of hay fever.  A ubiquitous weed of disturbed sites throughout the state.  Flowers in late summer and fall.  [142]
