quackgrass [Poaceae]
An
introduced perennial grass with erect stems (1½-3') and erect green or
purplish spikes.
Spreads extensively by rhizomes.
Spikelets are well separated and
several flowered.
A good forage grass, but also an
invasive and persistent weed.
Flowers early in the summer.
