Iris spp.; blue-flag, wild iris [Iridaceae]  Native, aquatic to semi-aquatic, perennial herbs with large (2-4" wide), showy, blue or violet flowers with yellow markings.  Leaves long and narrow, flattened, sheathing the stem.  Found in shallow water and wet ground.  Flowers in summer.  Two species are common in Wisconsin.  [037]
