Medium-sized
fern (to about 2') with finely divided fronds of flattened pinnae with
distinctive asymmetrical pinnules.
Leafstalks wiry and shiny black.
Sori below the upper margins of pinnae
and covered by the in-rolled tips of pinnae lobes.
Shady
understories of rich woods.
