Final Exam - Physics 300

The final exam will be given as follows:
  1. You may prepare an 8-½ × 11 sheet to use in the exam. You may write, laser print, photocopy, or paste anything you want on both sides of the sheet, whatever you feel will help you on the exam. I suggest you handwrite the sheet, because simply preparing such a sheet will force you to go over all the material of the semester, and writing concepts and equations by hand will help you to remember them better.

  2. The exam will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 8:00am 🙁 in A113

  3. You may work on the exam for the full 120 minutes.

  4. The exam is worth 200 points and is about half cumulative. It is structured as follows:

    1. Part I: Atomic and Nuclear Physics (Chapters 8, 10, 12, 13) 70 points
      1. Multiple Choice (5 questions, 15 points)
      2. Free response problems (one 15-pt, two 20-pt questions, 55 points total)

    2. Part II: Cumulative (questions span all homework sets) 130 points
      1. Multiple Choice (26 questions, 5 points each) Two questions per homework assignment.
