Cumulative Midterm Exam - Physics 250

The cumulative midterm exam will be given as follows:
  1. You may prepare an 8-½ × 11 sheet to use for the exam. You may write, laser print, photocopy, or paste anything you want on both sides of the sheet, whatever you feel will help you on the exam. The sheet may be used for both parts of the exam. I suggest you handwrite the sheet, because simply preparing such a sheet will force you to go over all the material of the semester, and writing concepts and equations by hand will help you to remember them better.

  2. Please bring a caclulator and a #2 pencil. The standardized portion of the exam requires that answers be recorded on a scantron sheet.

  3. The exam will be held in room SCI A109 on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 6:30pm

  4. You may work on the exam for the full 120 minutes.

  5. The exam is worth 200 points and is about two-thirds cumulative. It is structured as follows:

    1. Part I: Electrodynamics (Chapters 31-34)
    2. 67 points
      1. True/False (7 questions, 14 points)
      2. Multiple Choice (7 questions, 21 points). Some of these questions require a calculation.
      3. Problems (3 questions, 32 points)

    3. Part II: Cumulative Standardized Test (Chapters 26-35) 133 points
      1. Multiple Choice (35 questions, 3.8 points each)
      2. Questions cover only those topics included in the posted study guide.
