Taraxacum officionale, T. laevigatum; dandelion [Asteraceae]  Tap-rooted perennials with a rosette of variously divided and lobed basal leaves and one-to-several unbranched, hollow flower stalks.  Each stalk bears a single 1-2" head of bright yellow ray flowers.  Peak of flowering is in the spring, and then sporadically throughout the growing season.  A widespread weed of lawns, fields and waste places.  Native of Eurasia now found throughout the temperate world.  [135]
