Trillium spp.; trillium [Trilliaceae]  Small native perennial herbs with leaves in a distinctive single whorl of 3.  Flower white (fading to pink in T. grandiflorum), or red (T. recurvatum), large, solitary, with 3 regular parts.  Widespread in woods, from upland to swamp depending on species.  Flowers in late spring.  Five species occur in Wisconsin.  [034]
