Collaborate for the Better
At the very core of Jolby is a two-headed creature that operates on pure collaboration. Partners Josh Kenyon & Colby Nichols both believe that creative success is best achieved through working together with others for the good of the project. Each day, Jolby sketches, talks, clicks, laughs, eats, and works together to not only create, but to get better at what they do. Their talk will aim to show you how Jolby does it, the struggles, the victories, the multi-tasking, and the secrets of working with others effectively. Remember that on the other side of every collaboration is a better you!
Everyone is welcome to join!
Workshop with JOLBY − Two Heads, One Workshop
Jolby's principles of collaboration challenge them each day to hone their skills and get better at what they do. A brief discussion on Josh and Colby's process of how they work together will start the workshop, followed by a project that will have you collaborating with someone you don't know.
The assignment for the workshop will be to recreate the cover of a book. Titles will include old classics and some newer titles as well. Each participant will be paired with someone they don’t know, and together they will sketch, design, draw, and create their covers, all while getting feedback and critiques from others.
Throughout a typical design career, creatives will be put on countless teams and paired to work with other creatives with different personalities, values, and work habits. This workshop will aim to help you get the most out of collaborating with someone else.
Workshop with SPACE150 − Uncommon Commerce
Brands are creating crazy, innovative campaigns in order to get recognized and ultimately generate sales and awareness for their product. In this workshop, we will be focusing on how to sell a business using creativity and innovation. We'll ask students to come up with a business strategy and sell it to us and the rest of the participants. Prizes will be involved - as well as a social media shout-out to the winner.
