Design Camp 2010!
OCTOBER 1-3 IN NISSWA MN
Design demands that we decipher the unknown. We must crack the code constantly – on new clients, new markets, and new technologies.
Sometimes the cues are cloudy, sometimes they only come to light when you apply pressure or wash away the detritus of preconceived notions.
Designers employ all their senses and their whole brain to bring disparate elements together to form meaning. Come to Design Camp and glimpse the
codebooks, grab a handful of fertile techniques, inhale the fresh air of ideas, and listen to the call of inspiration.
APPLETON & MILWAUKEE
COME TO THE MEETING, TUESDAY - APRIL 6th - 5:05pm - FISHBOWL
There are also two portfolio reviews in WI! They happen to fall on the same weekend, so it will be easy to make one big design
weekend trip. This is a great way to network locally and possibly get a business card out there for future relationships! There will be a MEETING FOR
REGISTRATION information and discuss carpool situations on this TUESDAY, APRIL 6TH! If you can't make it to both, I have the schedule below, please
take a look at it before the meeting, it will make the carpooling situation run much more smoothly if everybody knows where and what days they need
to be somewhere.
Portfolio 1 on 1
16 and 17 2010 - AIGA Minnesota
Studio tours give students a glimpse of different types of work environments. A panel discussion provides a chance to hear advice
from and ask questions of experienced design professionals. Students are also given the opportunity to submit their portfolios for scholarship
awards.
Workshops on a variety of topics relevant to students and entry-level designers are held in tandem with the portfolio review sessions. Each student
is given the opportunity to participate in at least three of these scheduled review sessions. The 20-minute sessions place the student one-on-one
with a design professional who critiques the student's portfolio and evaluates their presentation skills. The designers who donate their time to the
event come from studios large and small, have several years of experience in the industry and represent all varieties of print, multimedia and
interactive design.
