Culture and Health in Austria SUMMER: Approximately, May 20 - June 10, 2012
Enjoy learning about health and wellness in “the Napa Valley of Austria.” Live in the spa town of Bad Gleichenberg while you learn from Austrian experts about environmental, economic, cultural, and social influences on health care and health promotion. Experience firsthand a European lifestyle and discuss the differences and similarities in lifestyle with Austrian students. Apply what you learn to health in the American context. We’ll visit Vienna, curative mineral baths, local food producers and cooperatives. We’ll cook with Austrian students, tour the countryside, climb a mountain, and more.
One weekend will be free for your own travel plans. Accessible cities include Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Prague, Venice and Budapest, among other locales. We will be hosted by FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences, and thus accommodations will include student apartments or dormitories.
Application Deadline: February 15 for guaranteed consideration. Late applications are often taken. There is a non-refundable fee of $250 to secure a spot.
Applications may be taken after February 15 if a position is available; contact the International Programs Office about available positions. Late applicants may have a higher airfare cost.
Go to the Applications page to find out how to get an application.
