Minitab v13 - Frequency Distributions

The data for the ungrouped frequency distribution is in a column given the name "X" and the data for the grouped frequency distribution is in a column given the name "Y". The Minitab worksheet is available.

Ungrouped Frequency Distribution

Use the "Tally..." command off of the "Stat, Tables" menu. That is:

That will take you to the following dialog box:

Type the relevant variable(s) in the box (or double click them from the left hand menu) and make sure all of the display option boxes are checked. The output will look like this:

Tally for Discrete Variables: X

  X  Count CumCnt  Percent CumPct
  2      3      3    15.00  15.00
4 3 6 15.00 30.00
5 4 10 20.00 50.00
6 5 15 25.00 75.00
7 5 20 25.00 100.00

Grouped Frequency Distribution

Use the "Histogram..." command off of the "Graph, Character Graphs" menu. That is:

That will take you to the following dialog box:

Type the relevant variable(s) in the box (or double click them from the left hand menu) and type in the value you want for the first midpoint and the interval width (or i). The output will look like this:
