

Minitab  Hypothesis Testing: Continuous Variables (1 Sample)
The two sets of data are given the names Words and IQ. The Minitab Worksheet is available.
Use the "1Sample Z..." command off of the "Stat, Basic Statistics" menu. That is:
That will take you to the following dialog box:
Type Words in the "Samples in columns:" box (or double click it from the left hand menu). Then type in the "Standard Deviation :", check the "Perform hypothesis test" box, and enter the mew ("Hypothesized mean:").
Choose the "OK" button. The output will look like this:
