The Central State Chamber Orchestra will perform in a spring concert on Saturday, May 10.

The orchestra, sponsored by the Aber Suzuki Center (ASC) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Michelsen Recital Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

Sam Schenkman, Anna Luetmer and Jesse Nummelin will be featured soloists in George Frideric Handel’s "Concerto Grosso Opus 6, No. 6." The program will also include works by Pachelbel, Elgar, Britten and Leroy Anderson.

The Central State Chamber Orchestra (CSCO), directed by David Becker, ASC faculty member, is made up of advanced, junior high and high school string players from Stevens Point, Plover, Wisconsin Rapids, Almond, Marshfield and Wausau. Members of the orchestra are admitted into the group only after successfully playing an audition modeled after the Wisconsin High School Honors Orchestra auditions.
