Changes in the College of Letters and Science
Lance Grahn, dean of the College of Letters and Science (L&S) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, stepped down to become the provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark.
Grahn was appointed dean in July 2004. He has been instrumental in helping the college launch new programs in social work and biochemistry. His last day at UWSP was Monday, July 14.
Charles Clark has been named the interim dean of L&S. Clark has served in numerous administrative positions at UWSP and for the past five years served as the associate dean of L&S. He has outstanding university administrative experience and is strongly supported by members of the faculty and staff of the college. He received his doctorate from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Russian history, a master’s degree in Soviet and Eastern European Studies from the University of Kansas, and his bachelor’s degree in history from Minnesota State University, Moorhead.
The university hopes to conclude a search of Grahn’s replacement during the coming year.
