Earth Week events at UW-Stevens Point

Students are again taking the lead on Earth Week activities on campus this year. The activities begin on Monday evening, April 21, and end Friday, April 25, with the Eco Fair and music in the afternoon featuring Mudshark and PowerKiss.

Unless otherwise noted, all activities listed below are free and open to the public.

Monday, April 21
7 p.m., Movie: "The End of Suburbia"
Dreyfus University Center Theater
Sponsor: Environmental Educators & Naturalists Association (EENA)

Tuesday, April 22
11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., Campuswide tree planting
Noon: Opening ceremony front lawn Old Main with Chancellor Bunnell and Stevens Point Mayor Andrew Halverson
Sponsor: Students for Sustainable Communities

7:30 p.m., Live hands-on exhibit of reptiles and amphibians
Daniel Trainer Natural Resource Building, room 120
Sponsor: UWSP Herpetology Society

Wednesday, April 23
4 p.m., Talk: "Energy Efficiency, Carbon Emissions and Sustainability"
Speaker: Randy Udall
Dreyfus University Center Theater

Thursday, April 24
6:30 p.m. – 9 p.m., T-shirt, coffee mug and book swap
Participants bring a mug, book, or T-shirt to swap
Dreyfus University Center, Alumni Room

Friday, April 25
10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eco Fair, east side of the TNR Building
There will be information booths, music and food.
Music will include a drum circle beginning at 10:30 a.m., with other bands to follow later in the day.
