MEDIA ADVISORY: Biofuels forum at UW-Stevens Point

What:  The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) is hosting a forum on bioenergy and biofuels, growing energy and economic opportunities for the region. This forum is part of an effort by WiSys and the UW System to foster intercampus and industry collaboration to advance technology development within the UW System. WiSys is part of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, which strives to invigorate technology transfer and economic development linking campus initiatives with local and regional business communities.

A major focus of the symposium will be to identify opportunities for new research, intercampus and interdisciplinary collaboration, and funding for this emerging field.

A continental breakfast (9-9:30 a.m.) and buffet lunch will be provided.

Scheduled presenters include:

  • Eric Singsaas, Department of Biology, UW-Stevens Point
  • Janice Eells, College of Health Sciences, UW-Milwaukee
  • Brent English, Center for Technology Transfer, Inc.
  • Jon Katers, Natural and Applied Sciences, UW-Green Bay
  • Daniel Noguera, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Environmental Chemistry and Technology Program, UW-Madison
  • A representative from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
