SGA temporarily shuts down Landlord Web site

 The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) Student Government Association (SGA) has temporarily shut down its Web site designed as a place for students to input opinions of their landlords, informally titled "The Landlord Compendium," due to concerns from landlords and UWSP administration.

The compendium is a Web site designed to allow students to post information regarding their current and past experiences with landlords around Stevens Point, alerting potential renters to risks and/or benefits from renting from their potential landlords.

Due to SGA�s coordination of findaplacetolive.com and the former off-campus housing list, SGA considers itself the main liaison and starting point for many students in their dealings with off-campus housing concerns; therefore, SGA has a stake in the endorsement of the landlords listed.

Recently, the Student Government has been receiving allegations that the compendium is being abused by hostile tenants and has caused area landlords a great deal of concern. Therefore, the site has been taken down until a more objective grading system can be established. UWSP and SGA will not be held liable for comments made on the site, and any statements made are the sole property of the authors, which will be cited under the new site format.
