Matthew Angerhofer, Stevens Point, has received the $1,300 Thomas Meier�s Memorial Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Angerhoefer, a graduate of Tomah Senior High School and a military veteran, is a senior majoring in biology who plans to teach following graduation.

The scholarship is awarded annually to an upper-class veteran attending UWSP. It is given in memory of Thomas E. Meiers, a UWSP student and veteran who died in an automobile accident on December 11, 1964. The award was established by Meiers� parents and has received continued support from family members and a past recipient.
