"Funk in Point," a live funk show presented by Centertainment Productions, will take place on Saturday, February 28 at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The performance at 7 p.m. in the Encore of the University Center (UC) is $5 for the public and free to UWSP students with ID.

Though the lineup will be subject to change, the program is expected to include "Umphrey�s McGee," "The Green Scene," "The Sweet Potato Project" and "Ice Cold."

"Umphrey�s McGee" is a Chicago-based sextet described as an orchestral smorgasbord of sound. In its coast-to-coast tours, the band has created a stir in the world of funk.

The same could be said of "The Green Scene." Calling Southeastern Wisconsin its home, the group has toured throughout the United States, appearing in several major cities as well as making a television appearance. Since 1995 the band has played more than 300 shows.

"The Sweet Potato Project" and "Ice Cold" will round out the program with unique musical styling.
