Build rockets with UWSP physics students
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) will be hosting its spring rocket launch program on Saturday, April 19.
The program primarily for fourth and fifth grade students will begin with a brief presentation on the physics of rockets. Participants will construct rockets from kits, view a planetarium show and launch the finished rockets at the end of the day.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. in Room B104 of the Science Building on the UWSP campus. The cost is $10 per rocket.
The course is limited to 20 children and pre-registration is required. To register, contact the Department of Physics and Astronomy at (715) 346-2139. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Parental consent forms will be required for all participants and can be found at
www.uwsp.edu/stuorg/sps. Forms will also be available at the beginning of the program.In the event that the program is canceled due to weather, the SPS students will contact all participants.
