Keller to p
resent recital at UWSP
Michael
Keller (left), professor of music at the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), will present his last full recital as a faculty
member on Sunday, April 6, as he looks forward to retirement in May.
The concert, part of the Music Department Scholarship Series, will be held at 3 p.m. in Michelsen Hall at the Noel Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $6 for the public, $3 for senior citizens, $2 for youth and free the day of the concert for students with a UWSP ID. Tickets are available at University Information and Tickets in the Dreyfus University Center, or by calling (715) 346-4100 or (800) 838-3378. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted. Tickets may also be purchased at the door if seats are available.
Keller will perform piano works for four hands by Clementi, Dello Joio and Liszt with Molly Roseman, associate professor of music. He will also perform "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky for solo piano.
Keller has concertized as soloist and accompanist throughout the United States and Great Britain. As a soloist he has performed in numerous concert series including Sunday Afternoon from the Chazen, the Dame Myra Hess Series and St. Martin in the Fields, London, England. He was a member of the Lydian Trio and performed throughout the Midwest.
He has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois. In retirement Keller will continue to serve the music department as an accompanist for faculty and students.
