The seventh annual "Celebracion Hispana" will be held at the Dreyfus University Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday, March 1.

The event celebrates Latino/Hispanic culture and is sponsored by the UWSP Student Alliance for Latino Studies and Advancement (SALSA). Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 5:30. There will be dancing following the program at 8 p.m.

The event includes a Latin American dinner, music by the "Que Flavor Band" and entertainment by Emmy winner Jackie Guerra, who played Suzette Quintanilla in the film "Selena." Guerra is an author and host of talk-radio’s The Jackie Guerra Show.

Advance tickets for the meal are $7 for the general public and $5 for UWSP students with ID and children under 18. The rest of the event is open to the public free of charge. Tickets can be purchased at University Information and Tickets in the Dreyfus University Center concourse or by calling (715) 346-4100 or (800) 838-3378. Visa, MasterCard or Discover are accepted. Tickets prices will be higher at the door and sold only if room is available.
