MEDIA ADVISORY: 5th GEM International Seminar on Watershed Management travels throughout Wisconsin
What: The 5th GEM International Seminar on Watershed Management including GEM International Conference on Planning for Land Use and Healthy Watersheds. The seminar features more than a dozen site visits such as the Milwaukee River watershed restoration project, Chequamegon National Forest multiple use management, and Mississippi River bluffs conservation area.
Who: Approximately 16 watershed managers from around the world (e.g., India, Tanzania, Israel, Mexico, and Vietnam) are enrolled in this seminar, which is led by University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point faculty with participation by local, state and federal officials and watershed and land use management professionals.
Where: This field-based seminar begins in Milwaukee and travels throughout Wisconsin, including days in and near Door County, Racine (Wingspread Conference Center), Rhinelander, Necedah, La Crosse and Madison. Participants will be in the Stevens Point area Sept. 29 through Oct. 1.
