University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Chancellor Tom George speaks directly to visitors to the UWSP Web page with the addition of a video welcome for new and prospective students.

Available at http://www.uwsp.edu/home/Welcome.htm, the video clip shows the chancellor in front of Old Main and welcomes visitors with views of busy students as they move around picturesque scenes of the campus.

"I was very pleased to take part in the production of this video," said George. "It does an outstanding job of highlighting our campus while providing visitors an invitation to delve further into information on our institution's offerings. Web visitors will now have a dynamic welcome as they come to our site to learn more about UWSP."

The video was shot, edited and digitized by Michael Martin, a broadcast specialist in University Telecommunications. Assisting with the project were Assistant Admissions Director Bill Jordan, who wrote the script, and University Telecommunications Artist and Designer Denise Deering and University Library Director Arne Arneson, who worked on the Web page.

Additional multimedia presentations on the UWSP Web page are in the works, said Deering. "The long-range plan is to give prospective students and other curious visitors a more complete multimedia experience," she said.
