l students awarded Nass ScholarshipTwo Stevens Point area students at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point have been awarded $500 Raymond D. Nass scholarships through Sunrise Medical Continuing Care Group.
Melissa Fields, Custer, and Tracy Pliska, Stevens Point, received the award created by Sunrise Medical (formerly Joerns Healthcare) as a gift for 18-year company president Ray Nass and his wife, Mary. Both the Joerns and Nass families continue to fund the scholarship, awarded to children of current Sunrise Medical employees.
Fields is a junior majoring in interior architecture at UWSP and the daughter of Tom Fields. She is serves as a UWSP representative of the American Society of Interior Design. Her goals include studying abroad in London, England, and working for an architectural firm.
Pliska is a junior majoring in health promotion and wellness at UWSP and the daughter of Dale and Patty Pliska. At UWSP she is a volunteer for the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and International Student Volunteers. Her career goals include helping people with nutrition and exercise programs as well as smoking and alcohol addiction.
