Art Studio and Curriculum class offered in Westfield
Art Studio and Curriculum, an independent study course for teachers, will be offered in Westfield this fall through University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education.
The Art 398/796 course will be held at Westfield High School on Saturdays, September 20, November 8 and December 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. The instructor will be UWSP Professor Rob Stolzer of the Department of Art and Design.
The course is geared towards K-12 teachers working on curricular ideas and projects to bring into the classroom. Class meetings will provide an instant think tank of ideas through combined experience in the classroom. Participants may also work on studio projects with the benefit of peer and faculty input.
Stolzer is chair of the Department of Art and Design at UWSP, where he has taught since 1989. He also taught at The Glassell School of Art in Houston, Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, Rutger's University in New Jersey and the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. He has worked as a freelance illustrator and served residencies in Japan, Texas and Vermont.
The course may be taken for one to three undergraduate or graduate credits or without credit. To register or for more information, go online to
