UWSP Arts & Culture Outreach fall classes for youth and adults
Mosaics, Dr. Seuss Day, Ballroom Dancing and Oil Painting are just a few of the classes offered this fall through the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s Arts & Culture Outreach.
A UWSP Continuing Education program, Arts & Culture Outreach offers classes in art, music, drama and dance for all ages.
Two programs for young children will begin in September, including "Music and Motion," a seven-week dance class for children, ages 3-5, beginning September 20, and the popular "Dr. Seuss Day," a half-day extravaganza for children, ages 4-7, on September 13.
Older children will enjoy Kidstage, a drama workshop where children, ages 8-11, produce and star in their own play. Creative writing workshops will be offered for children and teens.
Many new classes will be offered this fall for adults and teens (ages 12 and up), such as Beginning Oil Painting, Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People, How to Play Music by Ear and You Can Draw. Some past favorites return as well, including Mosaics, Ballroom and Swing Dance, Autumn En Plein Air Painting and several digital photography classes.
Private music lessons will again be offered for all ages and all abilities on voice and a variety of instruments including piano, guitar, percussion and strings. Lessons are also available on more obscure instruments including the mandolin, harmonica and banjo.
