 MEDIA ADVISORY: Renewable energy workshop coming to UWSP

What:  "Renewable Energy 101 for Universities," a one-day workshop sponsored by the Student Government Association, will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The workshop will include information on renewable energy technologies, including wind electric, photovoltaic, solar hot water systems and energy efficiency. The workshop is free and open to the public.

The PowerUp! Students for Renewable Energy organization will lead the morning portion and presentations by Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group (WISPIRG) and Renew Wisconsin will follow in implementing renewable energies at the school, community and state level. Take home materials will be provided to encourage development beyond the workshop.

Who: PowerUp! Students for Renewable Energy is sponsored by the MREA (Midwest Renewable Energy Association), a regional leader in renewable energy and energy efficiency education. MREA is located in Custer and is home of the largest renewable energy and sustainable living fair in North America. MREA is a pioneer in educating the public on sustainability through renewable energy and energy conservation techniques.
