UWSP Jazz Lab Band to perform
The UWSP Jazz Lab Band at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
(UWSP) will perform on Wednesday, November 5.
The free concert at 7:30 p.m. will be held in Michelsen Hall
at the Noel Fine Arts Center.
Directed by Brent Turney, assistant professor of music, the concert
will feature “Anything Goes” by Cole Porter, “Blues Around the
Corner” by Rick Cornish, “Black, Brown and Beautiful” by Oliver
Nelson, and “Somebody’s Waltz” by Tomas Matta. The concert will
conclude with “Quintessence” by Quincy Jones and “Momcat Mambo”
by Michael Mossman.
David Hastings, professor of saxophone and music theory, will showcase
his talents as a guest saxophonist during the concert.
