Australian outback

A semi-desert where dry ecosystems mix.

Annual rainfall ranges from 15 centimeters in Australia’s desert interior to 60 centimeters at the edge of this sparsely settled landscape. Central desert is ringed by grasslands, which in turn give way to brushland and open woodland. Forests extend along rivers which penetrate the interior.
