20.Dec.2007: Johannes showed us around the Schoenebeck area. We had quark-keulchen (see photo) for lunch. Then we went into Magdegburg, saw Johannes and Christian's apartment, toured the old town, and went to the Christmas market. Along the way we met up with Jessica (Magdeburg student from 2005). In the evening we had cheese fondue with Gunther and Heidi, friends of the Tuemlers.
21.Dec.2007: Johannes and Christian took us to Autostadt, VW's auto city, where there are many cool car exhibits and movies and children's play areas. We had Thuringer wurst for dinner.
22.Dec.2007: Anja (Magdeburg student from 2006) came over to the Tuemlers for a visit. We got to see pictures of her new baby Gustov. Then we went to a handball game with the Tuemlers. It was nonstop action and adrenaline. They tied against one of the better teams in the league. Then we went to Judith's (Johannes' girlfriend) house for a get-together. One funny thing that happened is that Judith's father asked me if I wanted another bratwurst. I had already had two, plus a fried apple, so I said I was full. He laughed and handed me another anyway. Craig and Tom had lots of fun playing the X-Box.
23.Dec.2007: We rode to Messdorf to visit Christian (Magdeburg student 2004) and his parents, Richard and Christina. We had a great time. We visited a dairy farm with brand new calves, went to a thousand year old church, toured a bio-gas electrical plant, and put together (almost completely) a 3D puzzle.
24.Dec.2007: We drove back to Felgeleben to Johannes' parents house. We went to church in Schoenebeck and then opened presents.
25.Dec.2007: We had a beautiful Christmas dinner, with a goose and a duck. (Well, we ate them, not with them.)
26.Dec.2007: Sad goodbyes to the Magdeburg friends. We rode the train back to Berlin, to fly back on the 27th.
