15.Dec.2007: We took the train to Munich, grabbed a couple bags from the EYH and hopped a train to Berlin. The hostel we're staying in, Sleep-Inn, is the best hostel we've stayed in yet. The room is enormous, everything is really clean and new, it has a kitchen, each room has its own bathroom, there's free fruit everywhere, and St. Nicholas even left candy for the kids.
16.Dec.2007: We took a very cold walking tour of Berlin, and toured the Museum at Checkpoint Charlie. Then we went home and cooked dinner in a real kitchen.
17.Dec.2007: We went to the Berlin Zoo. It was very cold. We went home and cooked lots of warm food.
18.Dec.2007: We toured the Reichstag (German parliament) and rode the S-Bahn around (literally) Berlin.
19.Dec.2007: We took the train to Schoenebeck-Felgeleben (outside Magdeburg), the home of Johannes' parents - Sabine and Hans. (Johannes is our Magdeburg student from 2004.) We had a great potato soup, walked around Felgeleben a bit, then had bread and meat for dinner.
