Fall 2007 Semester Abroad: Munich, Germany

Blog Entry (12Dec2007)

Author: Andy Felt

1Dec.2007: Craig and Tom had a great time at their sleepover. Everyone here in Germany has been so nice to us. Everyone in our group is hitting the Christmas markets, except Michael, who is in Poland.

2Dec.2007: Most of us went to a professional soccer game at Allianz Stadium today: TSV 1860 vs. FC Padeborn. It ended in a 0-0 tie, but was exciting nonetheless.

3Dec.2007: The students are busy studying for finals and getting ready to return home.

4Dec.2007: Our techniques of cooking in the coffee maker have evolved throughout the semester, starting with making instant potatoes and rice noodles, moving to cooking frozen broccoli and milk-rice, and building to today's meal: pork stew with carrots, onions and spices. Elizabeth and I think we will make a cookbook about cooking in a coffee maker.

5Dec.2007: This will likely be my last blog, since we are hitting the road on Sunday, and may not have internet access during our travels. I will write what is supposed to happen in the next few days, and end with our expected schedule. (If we go missing, you can please tell Interpol where to start looking.)

6Dec.2007: Tom's class will take the tram to a theater and see a puppet show, "Der verschundene Wunschzettel." Later, the Felt family will see the movie "The Golden Compass" at an English speaking theater. The students will go to a Christmas market at the Chiniesische Turm with Willie, and then go out with some North Carolina students.

7Dec.2007: We will all be packing. We'll go out to eat one last time together. Judith and Felix will also be in town.

8Dec.2007: The students fly out at noon.

The Felts' schedule for the rest of the time:

We fly from Berlin at 9:40 on 27.Dec.
