27Oct2007: We took the train from Munich to Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe to Olten and Olten to Geneva to visit our friend Christy (from Baton Rouge) and her family.

28Oct2007: We had brunch with two friends of Jonathan and Christy's, then walked down to Lake Geneva. Jonathan and Christy have a sailboat on which they vacation. Elizabeth made sausage pie for dinner.

29Oct2007: We had planned to visit Mont Blanc in France, but Christy was ill, so we took the train into the city and walked around the old town. Then we took the train to the UN compound. Elizabeth and Andy began to feel ill. We used the world-class UN bathrooms, then took the train back to Christy's. On the walk from the train stop, Elizabeth vomited on the clean Swiss sidewalk. Elizabeth and Andy spent the rest of the day getting sick in Christy's fine Swiss toilet.

30Oct2007: Elizabeth and Andy recouperated from being ill. We spent a quiet day at Jonathan and Christy's.

31Oct2007: We took the train across Switzerland to St. Gallen. We walked through St. Gallen to the youth hostel. We ate dinner at the Dreilinden Inn, way up the hill overlooking town.

01Nov2007: Today is a holiday in Switzerland, so most things are closed. We walked through the old town. Elizabeth toured a library of very old books. Andy walked in the woods/hills around St. Gallen.

02Nov2007: We took the bus to Saentispark water park and spa. We ate at Long Wai Take Out (not kidding, that's the name), and then had hot chocolate at the chocolate museum.

03Nov2007: We rode a regional train (Apenzelerbahn) to Saentis peak (2500 m).

04Nov2007: We rode the train back to Munich, and got a chance to catch up with the students and hear their travel stories.

05Nov2007: Craig was sick all night last night.
