06Sep., 2007: Everyone went to Bluetenburg Castle and Castle Nymphenburg today with Frau Klein. Bluetenburg was a small, fortified hunting palace, and Nymphenburg is an enormous, multi-building site. Inside Nymphenburg is a great natural science museum for kids.

07Sep., 2007: This whole week, the Felts were invited to dinner by a new friend we made at the park. A mother and son, Judith and Felix, were in town for a week (they live in the mountains), staying at the apartment of a friend of theirs. It was a blessing to get warm meals and get a glimpse of real German city life (as opposed to hotel life). The conversation was fun, and we got a chance to get to hear about life in a small mountain village. Thursday night we had Knuedeln, dumplings. They were delicious boiled balls of bread, eggs, spinach and butter about the size of a baseball. Craig, Tom and Andy each had three! John, Richard, Michael and Nina left for Hamburg this morning. Zach is exploring on his bike (he bought one for 99 Euros), and Jackie will be travelling to Garmisch-Partenkirchen today with the Felt family. G-P was very nice. We walked along the river and found a great kids' playground, which was completely deserted.
