24-25 August: Our adventure began at O'Hare Airport. The flight was delayed a couple hours. I was immediately impressed that I heard no complaining by the students (nor even my children). Nobody slept much on the plane. We arrived about 11:00 a.m. local time, and had a taxi ride to the Euro Youth Hotel. That day was mostly a blur, but many of us grocery shopped, while the students explored various hang-outs in the city.

26 August: The breakfast at the hotel is quite good. The whole group took a free walking tour of the old city. The guide was extremely soft-spoken. I understand that it's polite to be quiet in a church or indoor work setting, but she was quiet even outdoors in a busy square. We looked like the Green Bay Packers, huddled around Brett Favre (our tour guide), straining to hear every part of the play call. Nevertheless, it was a good tour. The whole group stopped at a little establishment for dinner on the way home. Richard thought the waitress was cute. The students walked a long distance to a free rock concert somewhere.
27 August: We took a walking tour of the old city with Monika Klein, one of the professors. It was good because we took a different route, hitting some of the same spots as yesterday, and also some different spots. Monika has a much better tour guide voice than yesterday's guide. Afterwards, we got some grub at the market.
