Configuring Skype for Use at UWSP

The following steps will allow you to configure Skype for optimal performance on the UWSP campus.

  1. Open Skype and select Tools > Options.

  2. On the left side of the options screen select Advanced and select Connection. Change the port that is used for incoming connections to 39951. Also make sure the proxy settings are set to Automatic proxy detection. Your screen should look like this:

  3. Click Save, and restart the Skype client. Skpye should now be configured for optimum network performance. If you have questions, please contact the ResNet Office.
