COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Special Events – In an effort to fill this trip, Kathy will try posting it in the Portage County Gazette and continue MODs and SMODs.

Tours Dean McKenna and student Danielle Binzcak were excellent hosts for the NFAC tour. Numbers were slightly down, but it was a very good tour.

Brown Bag 10 people attended the TABOR2 presentation with Tom Miller. He might do more of these.

Sargis Everything’s ready for Bernice including script, family notifications, etc. As to whether comments from nomination sheets should be given to winner(s) the Committee was split, but discussion will continue. Depending on the decision, a disclaimer may appear on the next version of the nomination paper.

Cabinet – The Chancellor’s Budget Affairs Committee (BRAC) often bypasses the Faculty Senate’s budget committee (BBAS) which has CSAC representation. Here is what CSAC would like to see:

  • Add CSAC rep to BBAS
  • Keep CSAC rep on BRAC
  • If we must choose, we prefer the former (BBAS)

Chancellor’s Cabinet – Meetings are on 2nd Wednesday of the month; Chris Cherney (outgoing CSAC member) will attend May meeting and June meeting to introduce the new CSAC rep.

  • Susan LeBow did a presentation on Hmong issues
  • Greg Diemer: GPR budget still in works
  • UW system felony policies being studied
  • Accreditation should be wrapped up by November, 2007
  • Regent Bradley will be here on May 1
  • Jim Haney is the new Chair of Communications Department

CSAC Week – Events coming together well. Need a volunteer bus driver for 2nd bus.

Elections – Faith will do final tabulations and notifications.

NEW BUSINESS:

CSAC manuals should be revised if necessary.

Brown-baggers will be attempted monthly.

CSAC members were impressed with the efforts of Janelle Ewen in producing the annual newsletter.
