Baraboo Interval Igneous Rocks (1700 Ma old)

The tectonically stable interval following the Penokean orogeny has been called the Baraboo Interval. Its earlier stages were characterized by widespread anorogenic granitic intrusion and rhyolitic volcanism in southern Wisconsin.
