SAR Applications for  DeLorme Digital Maps

DeLorme maps are available for your use on work stations in the map library, B312, and B346.  We have the entire USA topographic map set on CD-ROM.  This software has enormous capability, and several of its many functions are quite useful in SAR.

Aside from viewing landscapes at various scales, XMap also enables you to make various measurements and find places by query.  You can view the terrain in 3D, and can exchange waypoint and route data with handheld GPS receivers.  The software can even convert between grid reference systems and datums.
