Fuel Procedures and Gas Cards

Gasoline pump
Please use only regular unleaded gasoline in the fleet vehicles. The vehicles are designed to run their best on regular grade fuel.

Using premium grades of gasoline results in unnecessary operating expenses.

Only fill up if you need to! You should return the vehicle empty!

Gas Cards

The State of Wisconsin issues gas credit cards for the Transportation Department's fleet vehicles. The Voyager Card is good at over 130,000 locations throughout the U.S. and over 2,700 locations in Wisconsin. The cards require that you enter a P.I.N. number and the odometer reading of your fleet vehicle at the gas station.

When you fill up with gas, you need the following information. Keep a pen and paper handy to write down these numbers.

  • Your driver P.I.N. (Personal Identification Number) is equal to the last four digits of the number in the lower left hand corner of the card plus two zeros added to the end (_ _ _ _ 00). This number is also attached inside your gas fill door.
  • The current odometer reading of the vehicle

These instructions are included in your vehicle packet.

Fleet cards are only to be used for vehicle needs such as gas and oil. No food or personal charges are allowed. Your account will be billed the amount of personal charges made plus a $20.00 charge levied by DOA Fleet.
