The Facility Services Project Request & Approval Process
UWSP departments must use the Project Request and Approval process to
obtain prior approval from Facility Services for many campus projects.
In order to comply with University administrative polices, various state
statutes, and federal regulations, Purchasing Services and delegated
purchasing departments cannot issue a purchase order or construction
contract until such special approvals and/or forms are obtained.
The Project Request Process allows Facility Services to
- identify and prioritize project requests with appropriate
levels of transparency.
- provide a responsive, consistent, and cost-effective
delivery system for remodeling and minor construction projects.
- serve as an advocate for University community members who
have program or departmental needs that require modifications to
a building or building system.
- exercise sensitivity toward the compatibility of projects
with building systems, appropriate usage, and future
maintainability.
- meet Division of State Facilities (DSF), UW System
Administration, and Office of Capital Budget and Planning
expectations for accountable and facilities-focused design and
construction operations.
- comply with building codes and guidelines and use trained
design and construction professionals on all projects.
- improve the performance of campus buildings and maintain the
integrity of building systems.
- reduce the backlog of project requests awaiting
Planning/Facility Services and encourage customer involvement
and communications.
