Applicants who meet all of the following requirements will be considered for admission to UWSP undergraduate (1st degree) programs:
Academically qualified students who do not have the required English proficiency may enroll in the UWSP ESL Program and begin full-time undergraduate studies when they successfully complete all of the ESL Program's advanced level classes. Following this path, the undergraduate TOEFL is waived on a case-by-case basis.
The Director of the ESL Program may permit advanced level ESL Program students to enroll in some undergraduate classes before finishing their ESL Program studies. Conditional admission is available to UWSP ESL Program students only.
UWSP ESL Program students who wish to enter an academic program at UWSP must:
(1) complete a separate UWSP undergraduate application form and;
(2) submit a separate UWSP undergraduate application fee.
The UWSP ESL Program offers college application workshops each session and provides on-going advising about entry into the university academic programs. It is important to submit UWSP application materials at least 8 weeks in advance of the semester you plan to begin your academic study. You should NOT hold your UWSP application until you have the required English proficiency score. You may use your end-of-session ESL program scores to meet the language requirement for final academic admission.
Questions about combining ESL Program and UWSP undergraduate study should be directed to the Director of the ESL Program.
PLEASE NOTE: Admission to and completion of the UWSP ESL Program does not guarantee admission to any other program of study at UWSP.
