Materials in this site are copyrighted to the author and beyond usage by registered students, may not be used or duplicated without expressed permission.
ED 701, Philosophical Foundations of Education, is an online course that can be used to fulfill the foundations requirement within our masters program. The course is administered through the CPS - Continuing Education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. If you would like to substitute this course for another designated in your masters plan of study, please contact the SOE graduate office at 715-346-4403 and ask for a change of plan form.
While I have designed these pages to support concepts within my course, and students registered for the class may peruse on-line support materials, IT WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT to follow carefully the sequential instructions, and deadlines in the printed course materials, as well as check the message board on D2L for changes and messages pertaining to class.
The SOE Chair, Dr. Shaw, has made the decision that course packets are now to be converted to PDF files. If you are enrolled, you will be able to access the course PDF file using your UWSP logon. My course files are usually large so be forewarned as it may take a while to download. You can either save this file on your computer, or a thumb drive, or download and print the packet pages. You will need to have this document handy during the course as there are class activities therein. If for some reason you do not have the software to be able to do this, please contact Continuing Ed and make alternative provisions. The PDF packet handout file also appears to the left in the "course components" area of our index and on other pages pages throughout the website. If nothing else, PRINT the Table of Contents so you can easily find pertinent pages. Note: Please note that while the Web is a fantastic treasure trove of information, browsing comes with a warning, as it is important to remember that the Internet is not a permanent medium. Frequently sites don't remain active, they move, are busy, have trouble with their servers, the phone lines are down, or they just simply disappear.
