"The main thing i wanted to achieve with the design was a clean, non-cluttered look. I wanted to avoid the dark purple as a solid color as much as possible. I know that technically the purple i used is a percentage of the real web color specified, but i feel that the saturated purple is way to over-bearing and dark for web. by using percentages of purple you get the school colors, but aren't overwhelmed by them. I feel that the current site is too controlled by the school colors and not the presentation of the site. The main photo up top would be a flash animation, or a java controlled scroller if the viewer doesn't have flashplayer."
