Description:
  • Course offered through SOLO – a school of Wilderness and Emergency Medicine since 1976. See www.soloschools.com for more information.
  • Curriculum is geared toward trip leaders, outdoor educators, mountain and river guides, and outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Course stresses prevention and first aid care for emergencies occurring in the backcountry.
  • “Hands-on” learning approach is used to prepare students to act competently in emergency situations.

Students taking graduate credit will be assigned an additional research paper.
